Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE

Treasury Valuation team is primarily responsible for assessing and monitoring risks associated with products and services offered by Treasury Department and to ensure that its business undertakings are within the Bank’s stipulated risk appetite levels. The Treasury Valuation Assistant Manager, in coordination with other team members, is expected to assume, not limited to, the following responsibilities:

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Maintain and improve existing risk monitoring tools
  • Produce and verify pricings for various Treasury products
  • Equip with pricing and valuation models for up and coming Treasury products
  • Document and maintain methodologies and procedures for the valuation of Treasury products
  • Monitor daily trading by Treasury dealers and ensure that all the limits, internal and regulatory are adhered to
  • Develop and implement procedures for independent checking of valuations, escalation of exceptions
  • Produced reports required by internal and external stakeholders
  • Review reports related to Treasury Department produced by other departments and verify that the information is accurately captured and reflected
  • Perform stress testing on Treasury investment portfolio in order to identify and mitigate unwanted exposures
  • Maintain the list of recommended market data sources used for mark to market or mark to model valuation and document changes to market data sources
  • Work closely with Trading, Middle Office and Accounting Control to continually monitor the various valuation risks of the business and implement appropriate adjustments
  • Act as a Business Partner to the Business, Risk, Compliance and Finance
  • Other ad-hoc tasks

Job Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

Essential 

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft office, particularly Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Hands on knowledge with financial modelling
  • Strong accounting knowledge and background, preferably in financial services
  • Good technical skills, market & product knowledge and capable of responding to change in both the working and market environment
  • Knowledge on Treasury system (Opics) is a plus

Education & Special Training

Essential 

  • Minimum Bachelor degree preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related areas
  • Other Finance related professional certifications is an added advantage

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of related work experience in banking or in financial institutions
  • Experienced in treasury products with capital market, financial analysis, and accounting knowledge
  • Financial reporting and working understanding of dynamics between Finance and Risk Management

Languages

Essential 

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) in both Myanmar and English
