Job Description

On behalf of our Client, a leading beverage manufacturer. We are looking for a: Tax Manager to be based at their offices in Yangon, Myanmar.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages tax compliance by ensuring complete and accurate tax filings, approves tax payments and ensures tax reports are made within the prescribed time
  • Manages the applications for business permits and application for authority to print invoices and all commercial documents for all plant and sales facilities, registration of books of accounts and other compliance requirements of Local Government Units
  • Evaluates tax practices and procedures to determine compliance with tax laws
  • Reviews contracts to ensure proper tax treatment of certain transactions and propose revisions or modifications to draft agreements to ensure least tax compliance cost
  • Researches and provides tax advice to other functions on the tax impact of specific transactions, proposed corporate projects, latest legislative proposals based on existing jurisprudence, government regulations and issuance
  • Acts proactively in the identification of risks and tax optimization opportunities in the corporate structure, transactions (inter-companies, suppliers, imports, and foreign exchange), trade agreements, incentive/ tax credits, proposes alternatives through continuous updating on local tax issues, plan and monitors its implementation

  • University degree in any subject
  • CA/CPA/CMA or Master of Commerce is preferable
  • At least (10) years’ experience in tax management, with minimum of 8 years in a managerial position
  • Extensive experience in managing external tax consultants and accounting firms
  • Extensive knowledge of Tax Compliance, Tax Advisory and Tax Assessments, Tax Planning, Customs from any of the Consultancy Firms
  • Having strong background knowledge in tax planning and transfer pricing practices
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent command of the English Language
