Job Description

Background 
WWF-Myanmar was established in 2013 and is working to conserve the country’s biodiversity and build a sustainable future for people and wildlife. The focus is on sustaining and protecting biodiversity and ecological connectivity of the transboundary Dawna Tenasserim (DT) landscape through an integrated landscape approach, and the Ayeyarwady River Basin through an integrated river basin approach. 

Major Function 
The purpose of this position is to lead the implementation of landscape conservation work including  biodiversity research, habitat connectivity planning and establishing Myanmar’s first wildlife institute, among others. This includes implementing conservation projects, leading training, conducting research, and establishing and maintaining relationships for advancing WWF’s conservation initiatives.


Major Responsibilities; Project Development and Implementation, Technical Support, Partnerships and Networking, Fundraising, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting.

Job Requirements

Requirements 

  • A master’s degree or equivalent in conservation biology or in a related field
  • 5+ years of on the ground work experience in wildlife conservation research and implementation
  • Strong interest and motivation in environment and biodiversity conservation
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate with multiple different stakeholders
  • Fluency in English and Myanmar languages, fluency in Kayin languages is an asset
